Part of the King’s Co-op Bookstore mandate is to encourage the responsible participation of King’s students by providing a medium for student involvement. King’s students have the opportunity to join the co-op, become a part-owner, have a voice in the annual general meeting, and be eligible to sit on the King’s Co-op Bookstore Board of Directors or work at the bookstore. Four student representatives, one faculty member, and two alumni comprise the B.O.D which meets regularly to discuss the direction of the King’s Co-op Bookstore. Remember, this is your bookstore. As with every aspect of the King’s community, the King’s Co-op Bookstore is dependent upon positive student support and involvement.
The cost is $1.00 for a lifetime co-op membership. In addition to the benefits mentioned above, co-op members become part the King’s Co-op Bookstore Frequent Buyer Program. For every dollar spent at the bookstore, five cents is placed in hold on your account. When the amount in your account reaches $20.00, it can be redeemed at the store. The King’s Co-op Bookstore carries a diverse selection of fiction, history, biographies, and classics, as well as scientific, political, religious, and philosophical texts. Furthermore, the King’s Co-op Bookstore is able to make special orders if the book you are looking for is not at the store. The King’s Co-op Bookstore also carries King’s merchandise.
